Anticipating your golfers’ needs

2nd September 2013

Don’t you love when someone anticipates what you want and provides it before you even ask? Me, too.

We have tried to do this for golfers in a new initiative called the Fife Golf Trails. Golfers are demanding a lot more for their money these days so helping them to match their mood and their interests is the way to attract them to choose courses in Fife.

The Fife Golf Trails is a golf tourism guide to Fife that has already done the thinking.  So gourmet golfers, classic links players, family players or explorers of Carnegie Country are all options in the new guide Fife’s Golf Trails.

It is written by renowned golf journalist Malcolm Campbell and offers seven distinct golf trails including Classic Links, Open Championships Qualifying Courses, Ladies Golf, Family, Hidden Treasures, Carnegie Country and the Gourmet Golf trail. While St Andrews courses like the Old Course and Kingsbarns are included, many more across Fife, such as Charleton, Dunfermline, and Burntisland form the trails.

We hope that by linking golf with other information like restaurants and attractions we can show that there is plenty here for everyone, from the beginner to the enthusiast and a full tourism experience. It’s all about generating positive business benefits for everyone.

Some 20,000 copies of the Golf Trails guide have been distributed to tourist offices across Scotland and the north of England.
