Golf was played in Dunfermline by King James I (VI of Scotland) and Charles I as long ago as the 16th century. In keeping with its place as Scotland’s ancient capital Dunfermline’s clubhouse is a 600 year old baronial home. It is however for the quality of the layout and the condition of the golf course that Dunfermline has a growing reputation as a first class parkland course.The course offers a challenge to the low handicap player while remaining very playable and a joy for golfers of all standards.
