7 Great Value Public Golf Courses in Fife
The Fife Golf Trust manage 7 public golf courses on behalf of Fife Council; Cowdenbeath, Dunnikier Park, Glenrothes, Kinghorn, Lochore Meadows, Scoonie and Auchterderran. These courses offer the most incredible value for money and provide those who are both experienced and new to the game with the opportunity to play on some great fun courses. I mentioned they provide great value golf and I really need to focus on this before moving on as the value on offer is quite astounding! Per round, it is in the region of £10 on the 9-hole courses (Auchterderran and Lochore Meadows) and £16-£20 on the 18-hole courses. Amazing value, right? It actually gets better…
Fife Rover Ticket - 365 Days Unlimited Golf On All 7 Courses
Annual fees for the ‘Fife Rover’ ticket are £329 for adults and purchasing one allows the golfer unlimited play on ALL 7 courses! That’s right, you could play 7 different courses, 7 days of the week, 365 days of the year and pay only £329! Have kids interested in the game? £10 per annum for under 12’s and £40 per annum for under 18’s is a brilliant way to get them involved in the game. There is also individual membership available at each course and check out Fife Golf Trust for the respective prices. Many of the clubs are fully committed to supporting junior golf and have thriving junior sections – Dunnikier Park even has a 6-hole beginners course where each hole is named after a local school!
Links And Parkland Layouts To Enjoy
The courses offer links and parkland layouts and are located across the central and south of Fife with each providing a unique playing experience – Old Tom Morris actually designed the original 9-holes at Kinghorn. For golfers looking to play the game a little more seriously and enjoy competition golf, they can choose to join the clubs attached to the courses separately (these cost from around £150 per year extra – still incredible value!).
The Fife Golf Trust is one of the biggest public golf facilities in Scotland and more than 140,000 rounds are played every year, so why not make your next round at one of their courses – you definitely won’t regret it.
